The Resorts of the Canadian Rockies are made of a variety of ski mountains and Heather's pick of these this season includes; Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, Fernie Alpine Resort and Panorama Mountain Village.

Sunshine Village and Lake Louise are both resorts accessed from the national park town of Banff. Nestled in the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff is likely one of the most photographed Canadian landmarks due to its awe inspiring mountain-scape scenery and free roaming wildlife. Both these ski areas offer big open bowl skiing with extensive lift systems and seemingly unlimited terrain, all set around the big mountain back drops of the Canadian Rockies.

Panorama sits just outside the Rocky Mountains and offers a very intimate village feel combined with a big skiing mountain. Natural spring mineral water hot pools feature in this resorts village, and make for total relaxation when your ski boots come off . Located adjacent to the village is a helicopter day skiing operation providing excellent introductory heli-skiing experiences. Often heli-skiing is presented as something for extreme skiers only, but here the 3 run and 5 run introductory packages see you heli-skiing comfortable in-resort style runs and back home that very afternoon.

Fernie offers yet another experience altogether. Originally a mining and still function as one, Fernie is a truly rustic mountain township which just happens to have a huge ski mountain right at the end of main street. Big open bowl skiing, steep cutes, tight tree runs and some of the regions most renowned deep powder skiing is what Fernie is famous for. Add to this the Island lake Cat Skiing operation, located just 15 minutes away, and you have an incredible adventure package.
