Bob Clarke
CSIA Level III Instructor - CSCF Level II Coach
Bob grew up with the ski resorts of Lake Louise and Sunshine Village, Banff, as his local ski hills. His love of alpine and wilderness areas developed over the years and saw him join the Forestry Service as a Smoke Jumper, working on the front line of fighting forest fires.
Never straying far from his passion for alpine skiing and back-country touring, he pursued a career in the ski industry. He quickly achieved senior instructor certifications and along the way competed in the World Figure 8 Powder Championships (Powder 8's) hosted at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing. He met and taught Heather to ski in 1981 at Perisher Valley Ski Resort, in Australia, and from this a lifetime friendship was formed. Following this he moved into management accepting the Asst. Director of Skiing position in Sunshine Village, Banff. An extended period working in his families engineering business did not detach him from skiing as he continued to work with Heather and Ski Adventure Canada each season.
Today Bob is a key member of the Ski Adventure team working closely with Heather and John in the governance and running of the business. He also plays a key role in promoting and selling Ski Adventure Canada vacations and continues his love of ski guiding as one of our on-snow professionals.
