APSI Level III Instructor - CSCF Level II Coach

It's hard to blow your own horn, so those of us who stand behind Heather are delighted to blow it loud and proud in her honour. This is someone who does everything to the absolute best of her ability and her many amazing accomplishments speak volumes to that.

Early on Heather was not ski racing as one would think. She was taking life by the reins - literally - in the world of horses. From showing and jumping horses in her home state of New South Wales, Australia, she moved into the elite world of horse racing...where she noted men only were allowed to race thoroughbreds. That was to change as she garnered attention racing throughout Australia, New Zealand, South America and Canada. Heather was proud to be one of the first three ladies to earn the right to race against male jockeys in Australia.

Fate may not always seem kind - Heather was badly injured during a race at Australia's Rosehill Race Course in Sydney. The 11 separate fractures to her left leg (her second leg injury), resulting forced into a year of recovery and rehabilitation and this gave her the time to re-evaluate her chosen career. It also gave her the time to take a ski holiday - at 26 it was the first time she had seen snow and the last time she would be away from it!

Starting later in life is something skiers often say precludes you from becoming a good skier. Of course, starting after such serious injuries seems to make the learning curve insurmountable, but not so for Heather. The same passion and enthusiasm she put into horse racing went into skiing - within three years, Heather earned Australia's highest instructor certification (APSI Level III). As an elite instructor she did not stop there and in the following years went onto become a highly qualified race coach with the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF). This saw her coaching race teams for prestigious private high schools in Australia, preparing them for the national Inter-schools Championships.

Heather is no slouch in a race course herself. Testament to this is the appearance of her name five (5) times on the Thredbo Masters winner's trophy, a masters ski championship held annually in Australia's prestigious Thredbo Alpine Ski Resort.

Learning to ski late in life has given Heather a rapport with people learning to ski that most instructors don't have. From her passion for skiing and her genuine love for helping people enjoy the whole alpine experience was borne Ski Adventure Canada (1986). The ski run Robilliard's Rush dedicated to Heather at Silver Star Mountain Resort is testament to all she has contributed and how greatly she is respected.

With a rapidly growing business Heather has expanded her ski adventures back into the USA resort areas of Colorado and Utah. In addition her exclusive invitational ski adventure is a now an annual event. Heather Robilliard's Invitation sees her select a different ski adventure each year (e.g. helicopter skiing, cat skiing, etc.) and inviting a hand full of guests to ski adventure with her.
